Signed today the deed to the Palazzo dell'Arcipretura in San Casciano dei Bagni (Siena), the building that will become home to the museum where the extraordinary bronzes of San Casciano will be displayed.

The meeting at the Ministry of Culture in Rome this afternoon concluded the signing of the deed to the Palazzo dell’Arcipretura in San Casciano dei Bagni (Siena), which was purchased by the state to be used as the headquarters of the archaeological museum that will house the bronzes and other artifacts from the excavation of Bagno Grande and from archaeological reconnaissance in the area. Present were, among others, the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, Cardinal Augusto Paolo Lojudice, bishop of Montepulciano-ChiusiPienza, the Secretary General of the Ministry, Mario Turetta, the Director General of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape, Luigi La Rocca, and the Director General of Museums, Massimo Osanna, as well as the Mayor of San Casciano dei Bagni, Agnese Carletti.

“Today’s is a very important moment,” says the Mayor of San Casciano dei Bagni and President of the Union of Municipalities Valdichiana Senese, Agnese Carletti. “Now we are waiting for the funding to begin the work on the renovation of the Palazzo dell’Arcipretura of San Casciano dei Bagni and to be able to present in full the collection of archaeological finds and bronzes so far found in the excavation campaigns of the ”Santuario Ritrovato“ at the ”Bagno Grande."



Meanwhile, everything is ready for the opening of the exhibition entitled The Gods Return. The Bronzes of San Casciano, which will open to the public on June 23, presented in the dedicated exhibition halls of the Quirinal Palace. The exhibition will be open to the public from June 23 to July 25 and from September 2 to October 29, 2023, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
