The list of professionally qualified restorers is finally online: thus ends, after eighteen long years, one of the most regrettable events in the cultural heritage system, the odyssey of restorers who were still waiting for recognition. The list is available in a special section of the website of the MiBAC’s General Directorate for Education and Research: it consists of more than six thousand professionals, subdivided on the basis of the institute in which they graduated.
“A dutiful act,” said Minister of Cultural Heritage Alberto Bonisoli, “which is finally being implemented after so many years of waiting. My hope is that by giving the deserved prominence to these professionals, it will be possible to stimulate many boys and girls to take up this beautiful profession. The achievement of this important goal was possible only thanks to the professionalism and dedication of the staff of the Directorate General for Education and Research and Dr. Giuseppe Carci, of my technical secretariat, who followed and coordinated the entire process that led to the publication of the list.”
“We have been waiting for years for this good news, which today finally becomes a reality,” the minister concluded. “Good luck to all the boys and girls who are working or who want to enter this beautiful profession, and many more wishes for a happy new year for you and your families.”
