As many as 209,729 applications have arrived at the Ripam interministerial commission for the Ministry of Cultural Heritage ’s competition calling for 1,052 positions of fruition, reception and supervision assistants. Windows on Art learned this today from Ripam-Formez sources.
It means, put another way, that for every position put up for competition there are about 209 applicants competing for it. The deadline for applications was at midnight yesterday: so there are tens of thousands of applications, but already in the past weeks there had been a warning that participation was very high from the fact that the competition preparation manual published by a specialized publishing house was (and still is at the time of writing) the second best-selling book in the Amazon Italy rankings, after the novel by Giulia De Lellis, former Big Brother participant and TV personality.
In the coming days the dates of the pre-selection tests will be announced, which will be held in Rome and is expected to take some time since more than two hundred thousand applicants will need to be thinned out.
