A village in Molise gives weeklong stays to those who decide to vacation there

The initiative that a small town in Molise, San Giovanni in Galdo (province of Campobasso), has launched to welcome tourists is called Regalati il Mol ise: a local association, Amici del Morrutto, in collaboration with the municipal administration, has in fact decided to give away 40 stays of one week each, in the period between July 4 and October 3, 2020. One week to be spent in a house in the village (four, three or two beds, assigned by the organization on the basis of applications received). The tourists, in return, will simply have to clean the dwelling.

Those who choose to accept this ’bet’ will discover a village with an excellent quality of life, where everything is still marked by the nature that surrounds the village, a village that is among other things in a strategic location, 40 minutes from the sea and the mountains, two hours from Rome and Naples.”

The initiative aims to encourage tourism in the area and revive small and little-known towns in Molis, without asking for any financial contribution from tourists. All stays will begin and end on Saturdays. Upon arrival, the homes will be delivered after 3 p.m. and must be left, on the day of departure, by 10 a.m. To participate, it is necessary to fill out the form with the request to participate in the project and send it to the email address amicidelmorrutto@gmail.com. Requests submitted by people who reside in Molise or who have relatives or who own houses in this region will not be accepted: the organizers will draw up a ranking of the requests received and will give priority to those arriving from people from locations furthest from Molise and to those who provide more detailed reasons for choosing to visit Molise.

Hundreds of applications from all over the world have already arrived in these hours, but applications for the project are still open. And, given its success, the initiative is likely to expand to other municipalities as well.
