Like Gianni Rodari’s fairy tales on the phone, but with works of art as the protagonists: the Palazzo Magnani Foundation of Reggio Emilia, which already launched the initiative Works on the Phone a few weeks ago (anyone who wanted could call the museum on the phone and be told about a work of art by one of the operators), is now reintroducing the format, but for the youngest visitors. Thus, until December 23, every Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m., it will be possible to listen to the story of one of the works on display in the exhibition True Fictions. Visionary Photography from the 1970s to Today, currently closed due to the health emergency, over the phone, as Gianni Rodari’s famous character used to do, telling fairy tales to his distant daughter every night.
Simply browse through the catalog on the website, choose the picture that intrigues you most and call 0522/444446. The Foundation staff will answer and tell your children all about the chosen photograph, starting with the techniques used, the ideas behind the project, and the life of the artist. “If you call together with your children,” the museum says in a note, “the staff will be happy to tell them about the work too, looking for the most curious details and chatting with the little ones to discover all the truths and fictions that these particular images hide. If you find the phone busy, make a reservation by filling out the form on our website, you will be called back as soon as possible!”
For more information about the initiative you can visit the Palazzo Magnani website.
