Shining Bodies: Palazzo dei Diamanti presents contemporary French artist Henri Foucault

In Ferrara, at the Palazzo dei Diamanti, the exhibition Henri Foucault. Shining Bodies, an exhibition dedicated to the well-known French sculptor and photographer Henri Foucault.

Thus the Shining Bodies were born: coating female figures with sparkling fragments, making them become matter. Indeed, these fragments allow crystalline variations and volumes to be created by light.

Among the works in the exhibition is a reproduction of Boldini ’sAmazon using this light-related technique. The original painting by the Ferrara artist can be seen by the public at the Boldini and Fashion exhibition at Palazzo dei Diamanti.
In a sense, Foucault’s creative process can be placed in relation to Boldini’s painting, as in his paintings, too, Boldini shapes the poses of his female figures and creates a dynamic relationship with space and the viewer through shimmering silks and brushstrokes of brilliant colors.

Henri Foucault. Shining Bodies is curated by Dominique Païni and is part of the contemporary art project Offside, conceived by Maria Luisa Pacelli, which aims to relate the work of contemporary artists to the work of past masters to offer a current look at historicized themes and movements.
