On the occasion of the restoration of Giorgione ’s The Old Woman (here an in-depth look at the restoration) and its new display within the renovated rooms on the museum’s second floor, the Gallerie dell’Accademia is organizing a series of lectures dedicated to the masterpiece by the master from Castelfranco.
Italian and international experts will investigate different and complementary aspects for the knowledge of the painting, from the novelties that emerged from the recent restoration to the iconographic and iconological analysis, up to the reconstruction of its articulated collecting history. The lectures will kick off on Tuesday, September 24, and conclude on November 19: the meetings will be held every Tuesday at 5 p.m. and are free admission. Following is the program:
