Coming to Italian cinemas on November 12, 13 and 14 is the film Bernini, which opens the season of L’arte al cinema distributed by Magnitudo together with Chili. The documentary, directed by Francesco Invernizzi, recounts the genius of Gian Lorenzo Bernini (Naples, 1598 - Rome, 1680) through the exhibition dedicated to him at the Galleria Borghese in Rome, from November 1, 2017 to February 4, 2018(you can read our review, with many original images, at this link).
Through never-before-seen footage of the highest quality and the contribution of professionals and connoisseurs including Galleria Borghese director Anna Coliva and art historian Luigi Ficacci, the docu-film aims to narrate the exhibition, focusing especially on the birth of the majestic Borghese sculptural groups. After the success of titles such as The Vatican Museums 3D, Florence and the Uffizi 3D, St. Peter’s and the Papal Basilicas of Rome 3D, Raphael - The Prince of the Arts, Caravaggio - The Soul and the Blood, and Michelangelo - Infinity, produced in collaboration with Sky, now Magnitudo has decided to ally with Chili for the distribution of its new productions.
Bernini is just the first in a series of documentaries dedicated to art that will be released in theaters between fall 2018 and spring 2019. The next titles will be Dinosaurs (in theaters on Dec. 10, 11 and 12), Mathera (in theaters on Jan. 21, 22 and 23), Leonardo Cinquecento (in theaters on Feb. 18, 19 and 20), The Room of Wonders - WOW (in theaters on March 4, 5 and 6), Canova (in theaters on March 18, 19 and 20) and finally Palladio (in theaters on April 15, 16 and 17).
