Florence Mayor Dario Nardella and his aldermen removed writing and graffiti from the Ponte Vecchio this morning as part of an initiative by the Angels of Beauty.

This morning following an initiative of the Angeli del Bello, a foundation that helps keep the city clean, Dario Nardella, mayor of Florence, and his aldermen cleaned the Ponte Vecchio with sponges, brushes and special solvents.

Graffiti and gra ffiti that defaced it were thus removed from the famous bridge; in recent times Ponte Vecchio has become a destination for improvised graffiti artists and tourists who leave their names stamped on it: against this, a municipal police group has also been created to prevent such occurrences.
