Franceschini revives proposal for a ticket to visit the Pantheon

Cultural Heritage Minister Dario Franceschini, during a speech at Bocconi University in Milan, revived a proposal to introduce a ticket to visit the Pantheon in Rome for a fee. The minister wanted to highlight the fact that an entrance fee, even at a reduced sum (for example, 2 or 3 euros), could ensure more effective management of the Roman monument in terms of covering maintenance costs and regulating visitor flows.

The minister went on to explain that part of the money collected from ticketing could be reinvested for interventions in other monuments or museums and other buildings.
