It is a farewell with controversy that of the two former undersecretaries for culture, Anna Laura Orrico (5 Star Movement) and Lorenza Bonaccorsi (Pd), who give up their posts to Lucia Borgonzoni (Lega), who, unlike her two colleagues, will fill the role alone. What Orrico and Bonaccorsi object to their respective parties is abandoning a key garrison on culture and tourism (as is well known, in fact, the League also got the newly created Ministry of Tourism, which will be entrusted to Massimo Garavaglia.
The two former undersecretaries entrust their thoughts to their respective Facebook pages. Orrico, after the customary thanks, writes: “I am only sorry that the Movement has decided to give up an important garrison at the Ministry of Culture. I remain convinced, in fact, that culture is the real key to imagine and build a sustainable development for our country: for this reason I will not stop caring about the businesses that are born in this sector, its professionals and the opportunities for rebirth through a serious policy of valorization of our villages, of our DNA. Politics, the one with a capital P, is built day by day with that humility that then generates the best results. I hope, in my own small way, to have set a good example of how politics should be understood.”
In the same vein is Bonaccorsi, who is more laconic than Orrico: “These have been very hard months,” he attacks in his post. “The tourism sector, the one most bent and affected by the crisis caused by this virus, has gone through, is going through and will still have to go through, very hard months. I put all the effort and expertise I could into it. Never sparing myself. I had the honor of working for my country in one of the most difficult times since the postwar period. Some things worked, some things didn’t, some things could have been done better. As always. For me it was a total commitment, as I have always approached things in my life. I thank all those who worked with me Marco Paccione, Andrea, Marina, Luca, Iolanda, Piera, Arnaldo, Tobia, as well as I thank all the Tourism Directorate for the work done under very difficult conditions. Thanks to Minister Franceschini, with whom it was an honor to work, but above all a wonderful experience. I wish the new minister good work. Thanks also to everyone in the sector for the messages of esteem in these hours. I regret that my party has not recognized the tourism sector as a strategic and characterizing element for the restart. But this is a problem that comes from afar and is another matter.”
