Mario Pittoni, born in Udine in 1950, has been a journalist since 1981: he worked as a press office and from 1983 to 2007 served as editor in chief of a number of periodicals (including Lega Nord Regione, an information pamphlet of the Lega Nord council group in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and Lega Nord Flash, a nationally syndicated Lega pamphlet). An early Leghist, within the party he has been involved in communications since 1991. His resume also includes working with a number of automotive brands as an area customer service manager. He is also an expert on schools, so much so that before the formation of the government he was listed as a possible minister of education.
