The history of photography told directly by artists. Bringing the project to life is Spazi Fotografici, a training, dissemination and production hub dedicated to photography and the world of visual arts, based in Sarzana (SP).
It will start on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 8:30 p.m. in Sarzana, at the Firmafede Fortress, with an open lecture by artist and lecturer Luca Andreoni, which is part of the larger project of Spazi Fotografici in which Giovanni Chiaramonte, Mario Cresci, Linda Fregni Nagler, Francesco Jodice and Roberta Piantavigna are involved, in addition to Andreoni himself.
Andreoni’sopen l ecture is in fact the “lesson zero” of the project: to tell the history of photography to insiders, enthusiasts and connoisseurs of the subject in a different study space, developed with great masters and accessible in cost and modalities, since it is entirely online. From October 22, sixteen appointments will start to discover the most significant developments and references of photography, from its origins to the present day, through experiences, practices, events and fundamental figures who have shaped its language, forms and culture. The appointments will be held by leading artists and, in the case of Roberta Piantavigna, by a professional who can tell the viewpoint of MoMA San Francisco.
Participants will have the opportunity to take a journey through time and space through photography, accessible through this “premiere” and live streaming on YouTube. Registration for the course will end Oct. 9, 2020 at midnight.
Theopen lecture is sponsored and supported by Municipality City of Sarzana and realized in collaboration with the Regional Museums Directorate of Liguria, and is made possible thanks to technical sponsors Grimaldi Impianti and DMP - Desmond Movies Pack, and the contribution of BVLG - Banca Versilia Lunigiana and Garfagnana.
