The award for Best Author in the Siena International Photo Awards 2023 is finally won by American photographer Wolfgang Schwan. Ukraine’s War, the title of his winning shot represents his firsthand account of the conflict in Ukraine, where he stayed for eight months during 2022 to document what was happening in the trenches of the Donbass and daily life in the country.
