Yet another act of incivility: French tourist sits on column in Pompeii excavations and posts photo

A French tourist, in the course of his visit to the Pompeii Archaeological Park, comfortably sat on a column of the excavation’s basilica and had his photo taken.

Subsequently, as is now the custom to recount his travels on his social media, he contentedly posted that photo on his Facebook profile.

Posting it as a public post, the photo in question was seen by tour guides and insiders who were outraged because it is behavior considered harmful to archaeological remains, an act of incivility: it was therefore reported to the Archaeological Park of Pompeii by Vincenzo Marasco of the Centro Studi Storici Nicolò d’Alagno.

A selfie on the throne of the Royal Palace in Naples was also posted recently: another act of incivility and outrageous gesture.
