Winners of the third edition of Italian Council announced


The ten winning projects of the third edition of Italian Council have been announced. Fourth edition also launched with an allocation of 1,080,000 euros.

The winning projects of the third edition of Italian Council, a program to supportcontemporary art promoted by DGAAP are ten, selected from sixty applicants from all over the world: Nico Angiuli, Salvatore Arancio, Stefano Arienti, Rosa Barba, Elisabetta Benassi, Botto & Bruno, Eva and Franco Mattes, Mimmo Paladino, Diego Perrone, and Diego Tonus.

Involved are prestigious Italian and international entities, such as La Venaria Reale, the MAXXI Museum, the Whitechapel Gallery in London, the Van Eyck Academie in Maastricht, the Fondazione Merz and the Point Centre for Contemporary Art in Cyprus.



Federica Galloni, director general of Contemporary Art and Architecture and Urban Peripheries, said that in the third edition of Italian Council “the number of proposals submitted from all over the world has increased and the high qualitative value of the projects is once again confirmed.”

The winning projects of the third edition will be funded for a total sum of 950,000 euros and will involve artists from all over Italy to create works ranging from painting and sculpture to video art and photography.

With the announcement of the winners of the third edition, the fourth edition of the call was launched with an allocation of 1,080,000 euros.
