Vinci, private company fund restoration of Vinci Man, masterpiece by Mario Ceroli


Vinci, a private company is funding 35,000 euros to restore the Vinci Man, a masterpiece by Mario Ceroli and a symbol of the Tuscan town.

The intervention, which will cost 35,000 euros, will be entirely financed by aprivate company. Making the announcement was the mayor of Vinci, Giuseppe Torchia, who believes the restoration is necessary because of the deterioration the sculpture is undergoing: “After more than 30 years since its installation,” Torchia comments, “there has been a physiological deterioration, caused by atmospheric agents as well as by the misbehavior of visitors who have left the sign of their passage with carvings and writings on the wooden structure.” Work will begin as early as the next few days.
