Sexy blitz yesterday at the Uffizi by two sexy influencers, Alex Mucci and Eva Menta, stars on Instagram (where they are followed by a total of 10 million followers) and on Only Fans, where instead they total almost 200,000 overall. The two young women took a number of photographs in the halls of the museum, dressed in transparent tops, without bras and with very tight leggings: in some of the pictures they pose in front of Botticelli’s Venus, in others in front of the Primavera, and in still others in the Levante corridor. A total of about ten shots were published, which garnered more than 400,000 likes, amid enthusiastic comments from followers.
The images date back, as mentioned, to yesterday, and came to the attention of the media today after Fratelli d’Italia’s group leader on Florence’s city council, Alessandro Draghi, denounced the incident: “The Botticelli Venus,” Draghi said, “cannot be used by these people for an indecent commercial, and it seems strange to me that the custodians did not notice, and that several hours later the director Schmidt did not receive the unworthy images of the two sexy influencers.” Draghi recalled the museum’s regulations, which prescribe attire appropriate to the context, and which stipulate that images disclosed for commercial purposes, thus assuming that the photographs were taken to promote the Only Fans profiles of the two influencers (Only Fans is a platform where content, such as videos and photographs, are sold against subscription: it is widely used for the dissemination of erotic content) must be authorized by the management. Therefore, for Draghi there has been a double violation, and the Uffizi should ask for the removal of the post with the offending photos, since “they profit the image of Botticelli’s Venus and mock the Italian artistic heritage; to be in skimpy clothes there are many discos, let’s avoid doing it in the most important museum in Florence. That the ladies Alex and Eva have a profile on Onlyfans does not interest me, but the Venus of Botticelli cannot be used by them for an indecent commercial.”
The Uffizi Galleries responded by saying that the removal of the images was requested: “This morning at the Uffizi the images were immediately reported, and the museum immediately took action to request the removal of the unauthorized images from Instagram. Evidently the two people entered the museum with their jackets closed, and were careful, then opening them, to stay out of the view of the custodians: otherwise they would have been escorted out of the museum, as has happened in other similar (rare) cases in recent years.”
