Two works by contemporary artist Antony Gormley arrive at the Uffizi as a surprise

Two works by the renowned London-based artist Antony Gormley have been surprisingly placed on the second floor of the Uffizi Galleries: this is apreview of the exhibition, titled Being, dedicated to thecontemporary artist, which will be staged in the Florentine museum from February 26 to May 26, 2019. Protagonists of the upcoming retrospective will be numerous works made in different materials and sizes, exploring the dual themes of the body in space and the body as space.

For now, it is possible to admire in the corridor in front of the large window overlooking Ponte Vecchio theinstallation Another Time and in room 43 the block in human form Settlement. The latter work has been placed in dialogue with the famous Sleeping Hermaphrodite, which has been moved from its ordinary location for the occasion.

Also on the terrace above the Loggia dei Lanzi will soon arrive another version of Another Time.
