Two documentaries presented in Venice, one on Bernini and one on Palladio

At the Venice Film Festival presented two documentaries produced by Magnitudo Film: one will be dedicated to Bernini, the other to Palladio.

Also on the day of September 4, the Venice Film Festival presented two new films focusing on famous artists after Julian Schnabel’s "At the Eternity’s Gate."

No bio-pics this time: the two films in question are documentaries, both produced by Magnitudo Film, a film production company specializing in the dissemination of culture in Italy and around the world through documentary films. The first is entitled Bernini and will focus on the exhibition dedicated to Gian Lorenzo Bernini (Naples, 1598 - Rome, 1680) held at the Galleria Borghese in Rome from November 1, 2017 to February 4, 2018.

Francesco Invernizzi, CEO of Magnitudo Film, explained at the press conference that his company has been working for the past few years to create quality documentaries to tell the story of Italian museums, and the same documentary on Bernini started from a visit to the Borghese Gallery.

The second film, shot in the Veneto region and the United States, is Palladio, which takes us on a discovery of Andrea Palladio (real name Andrea di Pietro, Padua, 1508 - Maser, 1580), a celebrated architect who in 2010 was proclaimed the “father of American architecture” by the U.S. Congress. Antonio Foscari, an architect and professor of architectural history, again at the press conference, explained that Palladio’s is an iconic art that is difficult to represent through images, but capable of founding a universal and open language: it is precisely for this latter reason that he is so beloved in Anglo-Saxon countries. Invernizzi concluded by stating that no actors were used for either film, since the voices of experts who have dedicated a lifetime to the two authors were deemed sufficient.
