After restoration works co-financed by the Lombardy Region with 488,000 euros, the Teatrino di Corte of the Villa Reale in Monza reopens to the public. The restoration work, directly supervised by the Superintendence, involved rebuilding the systems, restoring the stage machinery, consolidating the gallery and renovating the walls.
The Region has also moved to ensure the Teatrino’scultural activity is intended to be first-rate: “The Region is enhancing with concrete efforts an artistic and architectural jewel such as the Teatrino di Corte of the Villa Reale, which can become a cultural reference point not only for Monza but for the whole of Lombardy,” said Regional Councillor for Culture Francesca Caruso during the reopening press conference. “To see a theater reborn is a source of pride,” she continued, “and we have also set ourselves the goal of ensuring a high quality of the cultural offerings of this splendid place. That is why we favored collaboration with the Canova orchestra, among the most promising on the national scene. We are therefore able to ensure that level of excellence and attractiveness that is one of the strategic points of the Masterplan for the revitalization of the Villa and Park of Monza. Masterplan for which Regione has invested 55 million euros.”
