TheCarrara Academy will give visitors the opportunity from August 4, 2018, to witness the restoration of the Resurrection of Christ, a painting recently attributed to Andrea Mantegna.
The restoration will be supervised by Delfina Fagnani and will take place in Room 2 of the Bergamasque museum in a special structure set up for the occasion, made of marine plywood and plexiglass sheets. Inside the latter is a reproduction of the restorer’s workshop, with tools and equipment, and images and videos of the restoration stages are projected on the walls.
Scientific, radiological, optical and chemical-physical investigations were previously carried out.
The restoration work is made possible thanks to the support of Rotary Club Bergamo Sud.
In August and September the restoration will be visible to the public every Wednesday and Saturday during opening hours of the Carrara Academy.
The public will be able to witness live the restoration of the Resurrection attributed to Mantegna at the Accademia Carrara |
