During the opening hours of the Uffizi Galleries yesterday, visitors were surprised to see right next to them the protagonists of the successful Netflix series The House of Paper.
The Professor (Alvaro Morte), Berlin (Pedro Alonso) and director Jesus Colmenar admired the masterpieces of the famous Florentine museum accompanied by the director of the Galleries himself, Eike Schmidt. The visit lasted more than an hour, and visitors took photos and asked for selfies with the protagonists of the series. The latter were fascinated by numerous works of art, including Piero della Francesca’s Dukes of Urbino, Botticelli’s Primavera and Venus, Buontalenti’s Tribune, Leonardo’sAdoration of the Magi andAnnunciation, Michelangelo ’s Tondo Doni (in front of which they took a selfie), Caravaggio ’s Medusa and Bacchus, and Bartolomeo Ammannati’s Mars.
Jokingly, Eike Schmidt, turning to the actors and director, said, “I hope you don’t want to plan a heist of your own at the Uffizi now, but if you would like to shoot some scenes from the fourth season in the museum, you will be welcome.”
The cast of The House of Paper was in Florence to shoot some scenes for the third season of the series: filming took place in Piazza del Duomo and Piazzale Michelangelo.
