It is called 100 Photographers for Bergamo the fundraiser that the world of photography has set up today, Friday, March 27, to help the intensive care and resuscitation department of thePapa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo, a city more than any other in Italy affected by the health emergency due to the spread of the coronavirus Covid-19. The fundraiser, running from March 27 to April 3, was created following the direct testimony of one of the resuscitators at the Bergamo hospital who told the organizers of the initiative about a dramatic situation for which they seriously need all the help they can get.

This is a call addressed to 100 authors from the world of fashion, art, architecture and portrait photography: it is an invitation to donate one of their images, which can be purchased on 100fotografiperbergamo at a cost of 100 euros. The operation, coordinated by Perimetro magazine and the nonprofit Liveinslums, involved some of the most prominent names in contemporary Italian photography, who graciously stepped in and immediately took up the appeal of the doctors of Bergamo, who are engaged in the front line to deal with the COVID-19 emergency. Others include Davide Monteleone, Alex Majoli, Oliviero Toscani, Michelangelo Di Battista, Toni Thorimbert, Giampaolo Sgura, and Maurizio Galimberti. In addition, thanks to the help of thirty exceptional ambassadors, the invitation to purchase the works will be circulated on their social channels so that anyone who wants to contribute can make their donation.

All proceeds from the initiative will be donated to the hospital to strengthen the intensive care unit through the purchase of specialized technical equipment.
