The last night: the Chamber of St. Paul in a short film

The Camera di San Paolo, which houses Correggio's splendid frescoes, is the protagonist of the short film The Last Night.

The Camera di San Paolo, wonderfully frescoed by Correggio between 1518 and 1519, is the protagonist of"The Last Night," a short film presented to the public about a month ago.

Written and directed by Irish Braschi and produced by Capitale Cultura Group, the short film was made as part of a cultural and tourism promotion project of Correggio’s masterpiece.

Irish Braschi said, "The Last Night is the story of the creation of one of Italy’s most important works of art, the Camera di San Paolo, a tribute to Antonio Allegri known as Correggio, who marked the city of Parma and the Renaissance with his talent and creativity: the story of a unique artist, but also a man, with his weaknesses, his frailties, who lived his art and his work in a conflicting way. A free man, as innovative as his work that everyone can still admire today."

Starring in the film are Massimiliano Davoli, who plays Correggio, and Cristiana Vaccaro, as Abbess Giovanna da Piacenza.

“The Last Night” was funded and promoted by the"Parma, I ’m in!" association. The short film is being screened at the D’Azeglio cinema in Parma throughout November, and on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m., it will be presented in Rome at the Sala Teatro dei Dioscuri at the Quirinale.
