The New York Public Library has initiated a project that may interest many and turn the noses of others: Insta Novels. The idea of the prestigious New York Public Library is to publish the great classics of literature in the form of Instagram stories, thus taking advantage of the social network dedicated to photos and videos. The New York Public Library’s official account, in fact, is followed by 211 thousand users, so the library is using the social platform to its advantage to bring younger, avid social networking audiences closer together.
Currently, only Lewis Carroll’s "Alice in Wonderland," with illustrations by designer Magoz, is available as early as Aug. 22, but the New York Public Library also plans to publish in Insta Novels format Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s "The Yellow Wallpaper," which will make use of illustrations by Buck Design, and Franz Kafka’s "The Metamorphosis," with images created by César Pelizer.
