The Diary of Anne Frank, the famous account of Jewish child Annelies Marie Frank (Frankfurt am Main, 1929 - Bergen-Belsen, 1945), who was affected by the persecution of her people by the Nazi regime and fell in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, has become a comic book by Ari Folman, Israeli director of the animated film "Waltz with Bashir, " and David Polonsky, his former collaborator on the above film.
Due out Sept. 15 in 50 countries, including Italy, “Anne Frank - Diary” arrives just in time to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the publication ofthe original edition of the book.
The graphic novel was presented in Paris on Sept. 7 by French publisher Calmann Lévy, authors Folman and Polonsky, and the Anne Frank Fonds, the foundation created by Otto Frank, Anne’s father, who authorized its production.
