Starting today, you can become an art pilgrim: kick off the MuDEV single ticket

Presented today in Vinci the single ticket of MuDEV-Museo Diffuso Empolese Valdelsa. Visitors to the 21 museums belonging to MuDEV become pilgrims of art.

Today is an important day for MuDEV - Museo diffuso Empolese Valdelsa! 21 museums in 11 municipalities, each with its own story to tell.

The new single ticket is born: a real passport to carry with you at all times that is meant to stimulate visitors to make a"pilgrimage of art."

The"Art Pilgrim’s Credential"-this is how the passport has been named-allows visitors to visit all 21 affiliated museums belonging to MuDEV over a period of 365 days from the first access at a total cost of 15 euros.

The visitor-pilgrim of art will have the privilege of admiring the wonders of 21 museums, including Casa Boccaccio in Certaldo, the Museum of Ceramics in Montelupo Fiorentino, the Museo Leonardiano in Vinci, as well as lesser-known museums to the general public such as the Nail Museum in Certaldo or the Exhibition Center of Shipbuilding and Rowing in Limite sull’Arno.

The goals of the single ticket are therefore to promote lesser-known museums, consolidate territorial cultural identity, prolong the stay in the area and lay the groundwork for a larger project of experiential cultural activities. The ticket can be purchased at 17 museums in the network, and each stop (each of the 21 museums) will be marked on the passport.

The director of the Museo Diffuso Empolese Valdelsa, Cinzia Compalati said MuDEV intends to enhance its area, its heritage and its community, achieving an involvement of both residents and tourists in the museum environment. It also aims to get those who do not usually frequent museums and cultural areas to start doing so as well. And still involve different audiences through the introduction of the single ticket, promotion on social networks and upcoming experiential routes planned. Immersive routes that, thanks to a geolocated audioguide app, will also lead visitors to discover the territory, landscape, gastronomy and crafts.

Giacomo Cucini, Mayor Delegate for Culture and Tourism for the Union of Municipalities Circondario dell’Empolese Valdelsa added, “The single ticket is the first significant milestone of the unified Museum coordination work that all 11 municipalities of the Union had wanted for some time and that has been realized in this administrative term, but at the same time the launch of a new area cultural strategy in parallel with the coordination of ”Toscana nel cuore“ for tourism promotion. Objectives on the museum source are the joint and mutual promotion of museums and the creation of a ”cultural community,“ composed of both residents and tourists.”

The initiative will be in an experimental phase for three months.

We at Finestre sull’Arte have been entrusted with the management of social media, in particular the Facebook page, Instagram and Youtube, and we will collaborate with"Toscana nel cuore," which has been involved in the promotion of tourism in Empolese Valdelsa for some time.

Best wishes for this beautiful and important initiative!
