Shooting underway in Carrara for a Sky-branded film on Michelangelo

Filming is underway on 'Michelangelo Infinito,' a film about the great Renaissance artist, produced by Sky. It is partly filmed at Carrara's marble quarries.

Filming began in late August on "Michelangelo Infinito," an art film produced by Sky with Magnitudo Film and centered on the famous Renaissance artist.

The film is partly shot at the marble quarries of Carrara, the place where the sculptor personally chose the marble from which he would create the Vatican Pieta, and, more specifically, in the Torano basin.

Directing is Emanuele Imbucci, who chose the filming location after various research and surveys, while Enrico Lo Verso is the actor chosen to play Michelangelo. The cast also includes renowned actor Ivano Marescotti who plays the role of Giorgio Vasari.
