Rockefeller collection to be auctioned at Christie's: record figures

Record-breaking auction at Christie ’s for Rockefeller collection: proceeds, which will go to charity, total nearly $650 million.

Masterpieces by Monet, Matisse, Corot, Delacroix, Morandi, Redon sold for record figures and seven artworks above $30 million.

Among the masterpieces sold for eye-popping figures was Pablo Picasso ’s painting belonging to the pink period Fillette à la corbeille fleurie, purchased by the Rockefellers from the collection of Gertrude Stein. Also by Picasso Les femmes d’Alger (Version ’O’).

And again for Morandi’s Still Life, Delacroix’s "La Tigre jouant avec une tortue," Seguin’s Les délices de la vie , Corot ’s Venise, vue du Quai des Esclavons, and for Redon’s Fleurs.
