The new Director will take office as of January 1, 2024.
Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, Director of the Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, will end her post at the end of the year 2023 due to retirement, after more than two decades of service to the Museum (as Chief Curator from 2001 to 2008, as Acting Director in 2009, and as Director from 2016 to 2023).



Following the opening of the Artists at War exhibition in March 2023, in the second half of 2023 Christov-Bakargiev will complete work on the new Catalogue of Permanent Collections and open a major exhibition dedicated to Michelangelo Pistoletto on November 1 to mark the artist’s 90th birthday, as well as follow up in September with an interdisciplinary art and science project that focuses issues around ecologically sustainable nuclear energy.

Opened in 1984, the Castello di Rivoli - Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, a contemporary art museum with an important collection of Arte Povera, has promoted art and culture as fundamental tools for understanding our age, stimulating the social and civic growth of the territory in which it operates through the plural participation of a local and international public. In addition to collecting and exhibiting works of art, the Museum is a center for creativity, research, education and cultural development, especially in the field of contemporary art in a reflection on the present that passes through a dynamic relationship with the past.
