The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, visited this morning the exhibition Modigliani and the Adventure of Montparnasse, running at the Museum of the City of Livorno from Nov. 7, 2019 to Feb. 16, 2020. The organization reports that the president lingered for a long time inside the exhibition, and was especially impressed by the Maiden in a Blue Dress, the exhibition’s icon. At the end of the visit, addressing Livorno Mayor Luca Salvetti and the authorities, he expressed his happiness with the exhibition, saying he had spent an “unforgettable day.” Sergio Mattarella also came to Livorno for the centenary celebrations of the birth of former President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi (born in Livorno in 1920).
This week, Finestre sull’Arte will publish a review of the exhibition, which will be signed by Ilaria Baratta. In the meantime, on our magazine it is already possible to see pictures of the installation and some of the works on display.
