Pompeii Archaeological Park director Massimo Osanna told Ansa Forum that in view of the terrorism emergency, plans are being made to reorganize the entrances “with armed guards, metal detectors and even the army both to protect visitors and the excavations.”
He added, “We also have to organize well so as not to create queues and traffic jams at the entrances, which could themselves be a target.”
The first trial is planned by the end of summer and early fall.
