Piedmont Regional Councilor for Culture and Tourism Antonella Parigi announced that Minister of Culture Alberto Bonisoli said that part of the Racconigi Castle grounds, which have been closed to the public for eight months, will reopen in May.
“As a region we have long since proposed several possible solutions. The most immediate is that of an agreement between the castle and the Consortium of Royal Savoy Residences, which would allow us to intervene both on enhancement and with economic resources. The second is regional autonomy for the enhancement of cultural heritage, one of the delegations we have requested from the government. From the ministry so far we have found neither the willingness nor the political will to pursue these avenues,” Paris added.
The closure to the public was due to the fall of a tree.
