Official, green pass also for museums, exhibitions and all places of culture

The green pass will be mandatory for access to museums, exhibitions and all cultural venues. This was announced by Minister Speranza.

It’s official: as of Aug. 6, the green pass, i.e., the certificate issued to those who have had the anti-Covid vaccine, those who are cured or those who have taken a negative swab, will be required for access to museums, exhibitions and all places of culture, as well as to cinemas and theaters, cultural centers, social and recreational centers. This was announced at a press conference a few minutes ago by Health Minister Roberto Speranza.

At the moment, only one dose of vaccine will suffice. Exempted from the measure are children under the age of 12 and those who cannot vaccinate for health reasons, based on appropriate medical certification. The Green Pass will be required in all zones: white, yellow, orange and red. Other areas where the certificate will be compulsory: indoor bars and restaurants (so it will not be required outdoors, or even for countertop consumption), gyms, swimming pools, fairs, spas, stadiums, concerts, bingo halls and casinos, and competition procedures. Discos, however, remain closed, regardless of the green pass. For now, the certificate will not be required on transportation, either long-distance or local public transportation. The state of emergency has also been extended until Dec. 31, 2021.

“The message we want to give,” Speranza said, “is a positive message: we want to prevent a growth in infection from leading to new widespread closures, and the fundamental tool we have in this season is precisely that of vaccination. So the basic message that as a government we want to give in the firmest and most convinced way is vaccinate, vaccinate, vaccinate, because this is the main way if we want to try to put behind us the very difficult season that we have experienced.”
