Norcia, Cassation annuls seizure of Multipurpose Center. Examination postponed to the Court of Spoleto

It had caused a great sensation in March the news of the seizure of the Multipurpose Center in Norcia, built on a project by Stefano Boeri thanks to the funds raised by Tg La7 and Corriere della Sera within the campaign Un aiuto subito. The seizure was ordered by the Spoleto gip at the request of the prosecutor’s office: bureaucratic irregularities were contested (lack of permission from the Soprintendenza, permanent nature of the structure in derogation of the regulations for the management of the emergency that provides only for the construction of temporary structures). The municipality of Norcia had appealed against the seizure: an appeal now upheld by the third section of the Court of Cassation.

The Supreme Court therefore invalidated the March order, however, ordered a new examination by the Court of Spoleto. For the time being, the Multipurpose Center will return to the availability of the municipality.
