Massimo Osanna was confirmed as head of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, a role he held since Jan. 4, 2016. From 2014 to 2016 he served as Special Superintendent of the Archaeological Areas of Pompeii, Herculaneum and Stabia. Since 2015 he has been full professor of classical archaeology at the Federico II University of Naples. The author of numerous publications, Osanna had begun his career in his native Basilicata, where he had, among other things, served as director of the School of Specialization in Archaeology at the University of Basilicata.
Simone Quilici, a 49-year-old Roman architect. He has been a Lazio Region manager at the Cultural Heritage Enhancement Area of the Culture and Youth Policies Directorate since 2013. He has delved into the issues of the Appia Antica Park since his studies with a dissertation and a subsequent PhD on the subject. In 2017, he was part of the Mibac-Regions inter-institutional working group for the Unesco candidacy of the Via Francigena.
