Today marks the start of the new educational archaeological excavation campaign at the Great Baths of Aquileia, one of the largest sites in northern Italy at 25,000 square meters.
The campaign led by the Department of Humanities and Cultural Heritage Studies of the University of Udine will start with a major restoration to bring the floor plan of the Great Baths and its spacious halls back to the ground . The restoration is funded by the Aquileia Foundation and is agreed with the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
