New benches arrive at the Pitti Palace: there are now 123 new seats

The Pitti Palace is getting new benches to make the Florentine museum's rooms more comfortable.

Forty-one new benches are arriving at the Pitti Palace to make the spaces on the second floor of the former palace, particularly the Gallery of Modern Art, more comfortable.

New benches made of wood and leather, each with ample space for about three seats. Thirty were placed along the path of the Gam, where previously there were none; another 11 on the landings of the monumental staircase and in the distribution spaces in front of the museums on the second floor of the Pitti Palace.

In total, visitors to the museums on the second floor of the Pitti Palace therefore now have 123 new seats available.

“This is a step forward in our mission to make our museums increasingly people-friendly and in line with the operation launched at the Uffizi where hundreds of new seats have already been installed,” commented the director of the Uffizi Galleries, Eike Schmidt.
