Nearly 10,000 visitors for Lorenzo Lotto exhibition. The Lure of the Marche

The exhibition Lorenzo Lotto. The Lure of the Marche, running until Feb. 10, is about to reach 10,000 visitors. More precisely, 8718 people, as of October 19, have visited the Palazzo Buonaccorsi in Macerata where the exhibition dedicated to the Marche artist is being held, while for the next fifty days, according to bookings, another 1254 visitors will be added through organized groups and 1292 students from schools of all levels.

The success of the exhibition is also having positive feedback for the city of Macerata and its neighboring municipalities(Ancona, Monte San Giusto, Jesi, Mogliano, Cingoli, Recanati, Urbino and Loreto), where Lorenzo Lotto’s works are preserved, which have seen a greater influx of tourists precisely during the period when the exhibition is taking place.

“The seasonal adjustment was a courageous choice,” says Regional Councillor for Culture Moreno Pieroni, “and it is proving successful. We bring visitors, tourists to discover the Lotto routes, telling, through the art of Lorenzo Lotto, the life of the sixteenth century, our history, our traditions. A different way also to deepen the knowledge of their city for those who live in those municipalities. We have almost reached 10,000 attendees, we hope to have as many in the coming weeks.”

Councillor for Culture and deputy mayor of Macerata, Stefania Monteverde, in turn, says, “With Lorenzo Lotto, Macerata and the Marca Maceratese win a great challenge, to put culture and art, the capital of these territories, at the center. Not only tourism economy, but also community ethics. Those who come to Macerata discover Lotto, innovative civic museums, enchanting landscapes and a beautiful welcoming land. We expect many of you.”
