MIBACT launches Grand Virtual Tour: virtual tours of the most beautiful state cultural sites

MIBACT launches Grand Virtual Tour: reunited virtual tours in state theaters, archives, museums and libraries. Also back is the social campaign ArT you ready?

MiBACT launches the Grand Virtual Tour of cultural heritage: on the first Sunday of the month, which usually provides free admission to all state cultural sites, MiBACT offers virtual tours in theaters, archives, museums and libraries brought together on the website www.beniculturali.it/virtualtour.

Many digital itineraries to give life to a true “grand virtual tour” of Italian beauty: many of these virtual tours were created thanks to the multi-year collaboration between MiBACT and Google Arts & Culture and have now been brought together within the Wonders of Italy section (available at g.co/meraviglieditalia on Google’s platform). The entire day of Sunday, April 5, will be dedicated to a journey along the entire Peninsula, thanks to a special social campaign.

The MiBACT therefore invites everyone to participate with the hashtags #artyouready and #granvirtualtour with a wide variety of content, from simple but effective screenshots captured during virtual visits to traditional photos taken on past visits and stored on smartphones or in old albums. Thus, the ArT you ready? campaign, which achieved great success in its first edition, is back.

The intention is to offer the opportunity to admire from one’s homes the halls of some of the most important state cultural venues, masterpieces in museum layouts, the rooms of several opera houses, authentic monuments of music, by walking through foyers and crossing stalls and boxes, and to enjoy the wealth of heritage preserved in monumental archives and libraries. These include the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the State Archives in Naples, the Quirinale Library, as well as the Museo casa natale di Gabriele d’Annunzio, the Castello Svevo in Bari, the Terme di Caracalla, the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, and many other cultural sites.
