Minister of Cultural Heritage Alberto Bonisoli appointed the four ministerial members of the National Museum System Commission

The minister of cultural heritage, Alberto Bonisoli, has issued the appointments for the Commission for the National Museum System: the commission is provided for in the decree adopting the minimum uniform levels of quality for publicly owned museums and places of culture. Its duties include verifying the equivalence of quality levels of provincial and regional museums, validating on the outcomes of accreditation applications of non-state museums and places of culture that intend to join the national museum system, and formulating proposals for the development and promotion of the national museum system. It is chaired by the director general of museums (currently Dr. Antonio Lampis), the chairman of the Scientific Technical Committee for Museums and the Economy of Culture, six representatives designated by the Unified Conference, two representatives designated by ICOM Italy, and four representatives designated by the minister.

The latter are the ones who were appointed yesterday by the minister. They are Barbara Jatta, director of the Vatican Museums; Manuel Roberto Guido, manager of the MiBACT’s General Directorate for Museums; Martina De Luca, a MiBACT official; and Cristina Da Milano, a specialist in museum education and communication who has overseen numerous projects for the European Union, and appointed as an expert. All are highly specialized profiles with high sectoral expertise.
