From the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism comes 12 million euros for organizers of concerts that were canceled due to the coronavirus emergency. This was established yesterday by Minister Dario Franceschini by signing a decree allocating the resources provided by the emergency fund for businesses and cultural institutions introduced by the Relaunch Decree.
The grants will be disbursed upon request: organizers of music concerts that have had to cancel, cancel or postpone, due to the Covid-19 emergency, at least one show scheduled in Italy, for an audience of at least 1,000 people if outdoors and 200 people if indoors, in the period between Feb. 23, 2020 and Sept. 30, 2020, will be eligible to apply. Of the 12 million earmarked to shelter concert organizers, 10 million euros are to be distributed in proportion to the lower revenues ascertained in the period February 23-July 31, 2020 compared to the same period last year, and 2 million euros are to be distributed in proportion to the additional costs incurred in reimbursement operations for light music concerts permanently canceled due to pandemic containment measures (voucher-related operations).
To apply, it is necessary to have a registered office in Italy; to have organized at least 10 events between January 1, 2019 and February 29, 2020, being holders of as many Siae C1 models; to be in order with social security, tax and insurance obligations; absence of bankruptcy proceedings; absence of conditions that prevent contracting with public administrations; and not to be beneficiaries of ordinary contribution from the Single Fund for Performing Arts in the three-year period 2018-2020.
“With this intervention,” says Minister Franceschini, “the government intervenes to partially restore the losses suffered in these difficult months by concert organizers, who even now are experiencing a particularly critical moment.”
