MiBACT, 10 million euros to small-scale publishing

MiBACT Minister Dario Franceschini signed a decree providing 10 million euros to small-scale publishing.

MiBACT Minister Dario Franceschini yesterday signed a decree for ten million euros for small-scale publishing, using resources from the “Emergency Fund for Cultural Enterprises and Institutions” established by the Relaunch Decree.

The new resources will be divided among the beneficiaries to the extent of 1 percent of the turnover of the year 2019, and in an amount not exceeding 20 thousand euros for each beneficiary. To apply, it is necessary to have a registered office in Italy; fall into the category of self-employed microenterprise; be registered with the Chamber of Commerce for Industry, Crafts and Agriculture; have published at least ten new publications in 2019; be in compliance with social security, tax and insurance contribution obligations; and have no bankruptcy proceedings.

"After the first emergency interventions and the June decrees that allocated 40 million in support of tax credit for bookstores and for the purchase of volumes by public libraries, with this decree the government’s support for the publishing sector continues, particularly for small publishers who are still experiencing a time of great difficulty," the minister said.
