Children around the world are about to learn about Italian art thanks to the international debut of “L’Arte con Matì e Dadà,” the cartoon TV series produced in 2014 by Rai Fiction and Achtoons.
This series sees the two main characters, a seven-year-old girl and a being with an egg for a head, a spinning top for legs and a cogwheel as his left eye that allows him to zoom in on works of art, travel through time thanks to the magic belt known as the Quadrimetrò, to meet the major artists in the history ofItaly including Leonardo, Parmigianino, Mantegna and Michelangelo, as well as international artists such as Picasso, Matisse, Magritte, Hokusai and Toulouse-Lautrec.
The cartoon is inspired by the playful learning model used in international museums to introduce children to the world of art. Created by Giovanna Bo and Augusta Erniti and designed for children ages 4 to 8, the series will debut this year in the United States on the Discovery Education channel, in Australia on the ABC Education channel, Eastern Europe and Africa(Da Vinci Media).
Italian viewers, on the other hand, will be able to watch the series on Rai Scuola this year.
