The Marche Regional Council, at the proposal of Culture Councillor Giorgia Latini, has approved the allocation of 500 thousand euros to support live performances and cultural venues affected by restrictions imposed for antiCovid-19 security measures. This is in addition to another 30 thousand euros, previously allocated. “This is a further sign of attention and closeness to many artists and operators who have been unable to work for months, in the hope that as soon as possible the situation will improve,” says Councillor Latini. In recent days he has met by videoconference with all the PIR (Primary Regional Interest) and FUS (Fondo Unico Spettacolo) subjects of Live Entertainment in the Marche region to evaluate together problems and possible solutions. “During the approval of the Budget Adjustment Law,” the councilor continues, "resources were made available from interventions that had not been implemented due to legal-administrative conditions of feasibility. Faced with the launch of additional measures to curb Covid, including again the suspension of performances open to the public in theaters, concert halls, movie theaters and other spaces including outdoor, it was decided to reallocate all these available resources to the sector that is in particular difficulty." The resources were divided into 100,000 euros to compensate PIR and FUS subjects; 213,712 euros to public and private entities that own museums, libraries, archives, performance and cultural venues; 186,287 euros to the call "Marche palcoscenico aperto. Theperforming arts professions don’t stop" which supports professional artists and companies in the Marche region for the development of a performance project in the sphere of theater, dance, music and contemporary circus through the use of digital tools and any other tool that allows implementation even when theaters are closed; 30,000 euros to local entities that own libraries to purchase publications from bookstores in the Marche region (in order to maintain and respect the’territorial balance, six municipalities will be selected for each province in which there is a civic library that is a member of the Regional Library System and has made the greatest number of loans to users in the current year, as determined by the “external loans” records on the Management Library System SebinaOpenLibrary platform in use by all member libraries. The maximum grant payable is 1,000 euros. In the event that for some provinces no lending data for the current year should be recorded for six facilities, contributions will be allocated to municipalities in those same provinces with libraries that have the highest number of cataloged titles. In addition, in order to better distribute the relief over the entire regional territory, purchases will have to be made by municipalities from libraries with registered offices or operations in the provincial territory to which the library belongs).
