Mayor of Florence Dario Nardella and Councillor for Culture Tommaso Sacchi announce, “From March 6 to 8 we want to launch a weekend of free opening of all our Civic Museums, from Palazzo Vecchio to the Brancacci Chapel to the Museo Novecento. Florentine citizens and tourists will be able to take advantage of this occasion and find in our museums the enthusiasm of being a community against fear.”
Also confirmed is the Florentine Sunday for Sunday, March 1, which includes free opening of all the city’s Civic Museums with the possibility of guided tours and activities.
“The City Council,” adds Sacchi, “is strictly adhering to the directives of the government and the region, and at the moment there are no regulations forcing our cultural spaces to close. I want to say thank you to the directors of theaters, museums, galleries, concert halls, librarians, and cultural workers who I have heard constantly in these days and who in these hours open their cultural spaces with passion and spirit of service. That is why I renew the invitation to all Florentines and tourists not to lock themselves in: in Florence we have concerts, plays, exhibitions.”
