Magnani-Rocca Foundation responds to allegations: no layoffs and no one thrown out the door

Reply from the Magnani-Rocca Foundation of Traversetolo regarding the allegations raised against her: no workers were fired.

On Sunday, we had published the FISASCAT-Cisl communiqué regarding the situation of ten female workers at the Magnani-Rocca Foundation in Traversetolo (Parma): according to the content of the text, the ten art historians, framed as errand girls, had allegedly asked for an adjustment to their contract but were thrown out the door. This morning the Foundation’s reply arrived in the editorial office, stating that the institute has neither fired nor sent any of the workers out the door. We reproduce below the full text of the note:

The untruthfulness of what has been rendered by the interested parties, in recent days, to some organs of the press, imposes on the Magnani-Rocca Foundation the dutiful clarification set forth below, intending in this way to render precise information and protect its own honorability, and that of its Management and Control Bodies.
In fact, the incontrovertible decision of Fondazione Magnani-Rocca to organize differently the assistance service in the halls for the upcoming temporary exhibitions, was depended first and foremost on financial economic evaluations, in view of the threatened risk, dreaded in the trade unions, of the unacceptable economic and contractual claims of said personnel who did not intend to respect the contractual, pay and contribution conditions, paid in legitimate trade union agreements, related to the reduced number of working hours, as well as to the seasonality of the activity to which the services refer.
No dismissal and no one thrown out the door, then, but only the refusal of these workers to continue the relationship under the agreed economic and contractual conditions.
Rather an ungrateful exit, then, slamming the door, with the usual methods, entrusted moreover to the controversy of distorted information.
