On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death, anapp, available for iOs and Android smartphones, has been created that intends to let people discover through augmented reality content the story of Leonardo’s Horse created by Japanese artist Nina Akamu and inspired by the sketches of the Tuscan genius, kept in theSnai San Siro Hippodrome.
Leonardo Horse Project, a cultural and artistic project conceived by Snaitech, involved 13 international designers who reproduced Nina Akamu’s work; the app tells the story of the horse studies, sketches, sketches and preparatory drawings, in a multimedia exhibition created in collaboration with the Museo della Battaglia e di Anghiari with the curatorship of Gabriele Mazzi, director of the Tuscan museum space. The user is also led to the most evocative places of the Hippodrome, with footage inside the facility and information on all the events organized for the current season.
Six different paths introduce the genesis and creative idea of the project, telling the story of the world’s largest equestrian sculpture through video-mapping and lengthy interviews with the protagonists.
The thirteen scale reproductions of Leonardo’s Horse, were selected by design expert Cristina Morozzi. The artists are Analogia Project, Markus Benesch, Marcelo Burlon, Matteo Cibic, Serena Confalonieri, Simone Crestani, Roberto Fragata, Antonio Marras, Vito Nesta, Daniele Papuli, Elena Salmistraro, Mario Trimarchi, and Marcel Wanders. The works of the latter have been placed in Leonardo’s sites, and with the help of an interactive map and geolocation of the works, the public can reach them to admire them up close.
The app also contains a section dedicated to younger children: a treasure hunt with riddles that will lead children to discover the racetrack and learn more about Leonardo da Vinci.
