Here are the committees that will choose the new directors of autonomous museums. Space also for economics and communication

MiBAC appoints members of commissions to evaluate candidates for the directorships of the six vacant autonomous museums.

The Ministry of Cultural Heritage yesterday published the names that will make up the two evaluation commissions that will evaluate the curricula of candidates for the directorships of the currently vacant autonomous museums and propose to Minister Alberto Bonisoli the trios from which the names of the directors will emerge. There are two commissions: one will evaluate the candidates for directors at the managerial level (Gallerie dell’Accademia in Venice, Reggia di Caserta and Parco Archeologico di Pompei) and the other will deal with non-managerial directors (Parco Archeologico dell’Appia Antica, Parco Archeologico dei Campi Flegrei, Palazzo Reale in Genoa).

The candidates for Venice, Caserta and Pompeii will be evaluated by Donata Levi (full professor of History of Art Criticism and Museology at the University of Udine), who will chair the committee, and Valter Curzi (full professor of History of Modern Art at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”), Michela Di Macco (former professor of History of Modern Art at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”), Richard Odges (president of the American University of Rome), Fausto Zevi (professor of Archaeology and History of Greco-Roman Art at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”).

In contrast, the candidates for Appia Antica, Campi Flegrei and Genoa will be evaluated by Alessandro Viscogliosi (professor of History of Ancient and Medieval Architecture at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”), chairman of the committee, and by Christian Greco (director of the Egyptian Museum Foundation in Turin), Nicolette Mandarano (art historian and cultural freelancer, communication specialist), Ludovico Solima (associate professor of Economics and Business Management at the Second University of Naples), Catherine Virlouvet (director of the École française de Rome.
